    My star seemed to enjoy the chin rub. And she will close her eyes when I stroke the top of her head. I also agree that it is good to let your tort familiarize with your scent so to have less problem about stressing your tort when one day you need to apply any med or beak trimming.

    Hi, cute star :) Did you bring phoebe for a stool check? It will help determine whether there are parasites or worms in your tortoise. If there is, it will affect the nutrition absorption. I had mine checked and after some med, she had a growth spur. :)

    I believe different Stars grow at different rates like us do. Some bigger, some smaller. I experienced my star growing very slowly for the first year or so. Only after I sent her for a check up which the vet propose a deworming job that spurred her grow. Now I think she is overweight. =D...

    Scratching tortoise neck

    Mine hides when i stroke his head but really seems to enjoy when i rub his neck/throat area. he will close his eyes and fall asleep! =D
