A bit confused on this matter since it appears to be caused by his own shell rubbing his legs raw.
I've been keeping Neosporin on them and they've healed up quote well for it still being an issue. There's gotta be something I can do about this!
This baby sulcata in order to keep it healthy and smooth. The owner is giving it away on instagram because his 3 year old says to. I just would hate to see it given away in a haste and not properly cared for! Anyone willing to share experiences with adopting tortoises with me? And also any...
Caught Boris getting rather curious about my camera in the bath today, too cute not to share. Also I belive it was Yvonne that had mentioned Boris looking like a little girl, obviously he's too small to tell, but ever since you said something I'm seeing it too! Lol
I adore my borbor (Boris) so damn much, I just had to share a photo from bath time. We're at a whopping 435 grams now! And of course a baby photo for comparison ❤️
I just recently saw that baby food and even carrot juice can bring sick and even near death babies back to health. My two year old is as healthy as they get, but I was wondering if soaking him in carrot juice once a week (along side his daily soaks of course) could be really nice. I just wanted...
I am finally constructing a permanent daytime enclosure outdoors for my 4 and a half inch 220 gram sulcata tortoise, as well as a large night box indoors for not only the night but the colder months. So naturally I have questions for any well seasoned enclosure builders. First off, what's the...
I'm sure someone has already asked about this but unfortunately I wasn't able to find anything on the subject.
I just recently designated an area in my new back yard for my little Boris to get some sun and adventure in, the only problem being that there are fox tails in the grass of that area...
Just wondering if I should be measuring my little guy from the tip of his little beak to the end of his tail or just the length of his shell? As small of a difference as it makes I want to be as accurate as possible. Thanks for all opinions! [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND SMILING EYES]
Here on the California coast there hasn't been much sun shine, which is a pretty rare occurrence, but non the less my little Boris has been having to endure being stuck up under his UVB light instead of outside. So when I looked out the window at around 2pm and saw the gorgeous sunny rays, I...
I started outlining Boris' growth patterns back in early January by simply taking photos of him on the scale and carefully tracing his cute little shell. And I've had a ton of fun doing so. I'm even having a hard time convincing myself to wait more than a week to see how much he's grown (even...
Just wanted to run this by all of my favorite people on the forum. My 9-10 month old sully is peeling on his neck area. His humidity and temps are perfect, and he is being soaked every other day. Which I'm trying to get up to everyday. Any advice?
Finally got my big boy out of his tiny 30 gallon tank and into a much larger Rubbermaid container. I'm constructing an actual wood home soon so this is just temporary, but I did want to show everyone using a glass aquarium for their tort how simple and cheap it was to better his environment...
yet another post to boast about my baby borbor. Or being 9 and a half months he's not on the huge side, but I couldn't be more proud of how far he's come since I got him from the serpantarium. Started off dry but he's well on his way to being the best looking sully out there [INFORMATION DESK...
My baby Boris has gained .2 oz in a week, I haven't been able to find any posts on a healthy weight for a 9 month sulcata (boris is now 3.2 oz) so I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. Also as far as his hide goes I'm sure you can see from the photos he won't be fitting in...
Officially had to switch out Boris' food dish with a flat plastic dish twice the size. Since at 8 1/2 months he is a whopping 3 oz and 3 1/2 inches in length. And thanks to a brand new humidifier he is at a steady and happy 80-85% humidity and around 85-90 degrees throughout the day.
