So, Ive noticed that turtle has had diarrhea the past couple days, although nothing in his diet has changed except we give him a raddichio now. Any suggestions on how to beat this or probably add extra fiber to his diet? A quick answer would be appreciated. I dont like it if my boy is sick. :(
My Russian will run right into the deep end of the tub during his soaks and he will look like hes swimming. I think he likes how he can walk on the tips of his nails and still move, he must feel cool. He even looks over his shell as if to say "did ya see me dad?" Lol. Its cute.
But he never...
This just appeared in Turtles tank where he usually goes to the bathroom. I was just wondering if it is possibly a bladder stone. It has a very mineral'y texture to it. And it's pretty solid,
I looove to take pictures of him. My fiancée wants me to get prints of the black and white one, and the sideways one, for our living room. And yes, he is napping In the last pic with the orange flower too. I wonder how that's comfy...
Thanks everyone.
@KevinGG yeah it's only a 40 gallon. But I'm in an apartment and money and space are both too tight right now, so I just try to keep him as happy and relaxed as possible to he stays happy and healthy. He doesn't ever try to ram the glass or climb out so I think he's content. He...
Hey everyone, sorry I haven't been on in months but I just want to reassure nothing bad happened to him in my absence. He just hangs out all day with my fiancé and I now and will even watch full movies with us.
Here he is :) let me know what you think. He loves to lean over his cliff by his...
They're just fake plastic ones from petco. I want to plant some grass and other plants but I haven't gotten around to it yet. Definitely on my to do list though!
No I don't, I live in an apartment complex so as I said this is the best I can do til September. My girlfriend is moving in with me then and I am getting him anywhere from an 80-100 gallon.
It's a 40 gallon. I know that's too small, but until September it's all I can do. :\ I know it's a little small. That's why I like to throw a bunch of stuff and cliffs and hills in for him to climb.
Cleaned up turtles tank today and decided to buy him some more stuff. This is before:
And this is now:
Comments/Criticism??
I wanna hear everyone's feedback.
So.. I may have found a useful way to aid your tort is getting over it's constipation. Turtle had been blocked up for a while, but within the past week I started adding increasing amounts of collard green leaves into his food. He usually doesn't like to eat them, but I would provide him with...
okay so after I originally posted, turtles eyes have stopped getting irritated. However, just within the past week, they've started doing it again. And now it just happened again in his soak. His humidity has been kept between 30-40 ever since, and I think he might be constipated. :( I don't...
Honestly I definitely think they do bond to their owner. I got Turtle the weekend after Christmas 2013, so just a few months ago. And he adores me, but hates my roommate. Even when I don't have food, if he sees me he comes right up to me and holds his head out for me to rub it. When I feed him...
No, you should definitely have her on substrate. Coco-Coir and top soil are both good choices. I use a mix of the coir and top soil. Top soil costs literally like $1.29 at Home Depot. And the coir costs about $10 from petco. Can you post a picture of your enclosure?
As long as they don't get cold and damp, yes, they're good! I think they look cool, and I bet your torts will too. It's really up to them to decide if they're okay or not. They won't use them if they aren't suitable.
Okay, here are those pictures I promised. Usually the slopes are a lot cleaner, it's just apparently, someone was feeling adventurous today. He loves when I take pictures too. Always thinks they're gonna be ones of him. So I make sure to take a few ;p
I could make the hills bigger if I put...
