Hello all, Wanted to share my Ms Ida's beak. It's been this way for awhile, on her right there is a little split/crack so her lower beak hangs to the left. She eats okay and get around alright. Don't know if this has anything to do with what the vet mentioned last year regarding black inside her...
Hello all,
Just wanted to share what I found yesterday. Ms Ida the DT has been out and about in the yard lately (pretty warm here in Phoenix) sleeping over night in different areas of the yard, not uncommon to do so. So I looked inside her burrow and what did I find a dead Curve-billed Thrasher...
Ms Ida the desert tortoise came out a little bit today, it was warmer here in Phoenix upper 70s, prior to today she's been staying in her inclosure. She's looking pretty good.
My little Ms Ida the desert tortoise has been working away in her enclosure. Last year my first winter having her she was in a enclosure that was east facing, I've added another one south facing. it's still in the 90s here in Phoenix getting cool at night so I can see her habits are changing...
Hello everyone,
would anybody be able to help me on what these little white raised lesions or whatever it is on my Desert tortoise, been there for some time. Thank you very much for your help.
I'm a little concerned about my desert tortoise Ms Ida. Heres a picture of her right now 6 PM here in Phoenix Arizona. Past few days shes been staying under the bush, sleeping a lot, she has ate. Does she look okay?

Ida my DT has been sleeping behind the bougainvillea the past few night, she must like that little spot keeps going back....then out during the day in he sun and shade.
Hard to see her in this picture
I've already posted on here and then noticed I maybe should of introduced myself.
I'm a new DT owner as of Sept 2013, to a female and I named here Ida (after my dads hometown).

This is our first rain in like forever I don't know.... Ms Ida my desert tortoise is out enjoying this rain here in Phoenix, its cracking me up she's like drinking the water off the ground, just venturing out. Cool!
Hello all,
Glad I found this forum, looking for more information about my DT.
My DT isn't hibernating like I thought she would. Is it due to the warm weather here in Phoenix? She sleeps in her din at night comes out during the day, sun bathing by her din, sometimes wonders around the yard...
