Turtle is streatching neck, gaping, and making the sound!

I just read an article on Herpes virus in tortoises, some of the symptoms match up... maybe ask the vet to just rule it out?

    Lighting issues

Here's a pick of the previous setup, the new is basically the same except wider and longer & I changed the substrate to coco coir. ALSO. Have you had issue with the food molding over night? I have noticed every morning when I go check on Myrtle her food from the previous morning had molded.

    Lighting issues

Not at home at the moment to snap a pic, but it's a CHE, it's just In one of those Black dome fixtures I picked up from the feed store. Originally I had a nighttime heat bulb in there, I can't remember the brand or even the real name, but it was a black bulb. That went out within the first week...

    Lighting issues

I have a closed chamber setup for my sulcata hatchling & am having issues with the lighting. The light hangs inside the tank, & im guessing due to humidity it burns out every 2-3 weeks. Has anyone else had an issue with this?

    Any users in Scotland?

According to the Scottish Immigration website, only birds and rodents are required for quarantine. Red eared sliders are banned. All that is required for a tortoise, or any other reptile, is a health certificate. Therefore the only issue is of transport, which, in my opinion, doesn't prove to be...

It's a 10 hr plane ride at most . If I were moving from Dallas Tx to El Paso Tx (9 hr car ride) would it also be expected that I do not take them? This is by no means a frivolous decision, nor was it when I decided to keep sulcatas as pets.

    Any users in Scotland?

I wouldn't go without either of my sulcatas. I'm sure there are some hoops to jump through, but moving to Scotland is just a possibility not for sure.

    Any users in Scotland?

Awesome, I'm curious to see what their set ups look like seeing as the environment over there is much different than my Texas environment.

    Any users in Scotland?

I have the opportunity to go to med school in a few years in Scotland. This is still a few years away and definitely not set in stone. I am curious to see if anyone on the forum resides in Scotland and keeps a sulcata? I'm really just curious on the matter. I don't even know what the laws are...

    Silly Dudley

I often leave the back door open during the mornings & Dudley has recently figured out how to climb the step up into the house. The first time he came in I got some him some treats from the kitchen & now he associates the kitchen with tasty treats. If the door is closed He will attempt to plow...

    Does this look like pyramiding?

Night temps stay about 84 with humidity the same as usual. When I emulsify the grass I throw in a few different kinds- I have different kinds potted outside- sometimes I mix in a little bit of some type of leafy green and sometimes not.

    Does this look like pyramiding?

I posted before I got the chance to write anything. I can't tell if there is regular growth or pyramiding- wondering if anyone else has an opinion. Closed chamber enclosure- humidity 82% ambient heat 87 basking 102. She is on a coco coir substrate, gets daily soakings, outside time and is fed...
