    Arizona Desert Torts for Adoption

I read about the Utah thing too, apparently people taking in desert torts are unintentionaly causing the population to boom because of breeding. Its causing problems for wild torts because some that are captive are "escaping" (or probably rather, irresponiable people are letting them loose...

    Arizona Desert Torts for Adoption

If you are a permanent resident of Arizona and you have room in your yard to set up an enclosure then you might be interested in adopting a native Arizona Desert Tort. I don't actually facilitate this, I saw a page on Arizona's state site. I will list the link below. You must live in AZ to...

    So livid.

Why would anyone do that to a poor tort? I'm livid now too! The substrate looks fine.

I love the stick ramp, and I think the two story layout is awesome, did you make the ramp yourself?

To Vet or Not to Vet?

I like to have regular checkups with my torts just to make sure that all is well in the world. I get them checked for worms or any other common parasites and infections every six months. i feel its better safe then sorry.

Where to Get a Tortoise Online

I'm thinking about getting a tortoise online. I have never gotten a tortoise this way before. I was wondering if anyone had any past experiences doing this; good or bad. I was also wondering if you could recommend a site you like or know well. I want to make an educated decision with as...

    Brachiotortoise

I came across a picture of a tortoise that reminded me of a brachiosaurus; so I messed two pictures together. If you have any doubt in your mind that torts really are millions of years in the making, this might make you see differently. I originally posted this on my blog...

Hello! You may have seen me posting on here looking for fellow tortoise enthusiasts in Montana. Unable to find any active members here, or elsewhere online, I have started a Montana (and Wyoming) blog. I intend to put useful information on there c[/u]hronicling my experiences of raising...

are Horsfield tortoises (Russian tortoises) good climbers?

Russians are escqpe artists -- seriously they're little Hodinis. I've never had one climb out of its indoor habitat but I have had some successful escapes from my out door and tortoise coral, but that was more of a digging thing, I don't think they'd be able to get out unless I built them stairs...

MONTANA!! - No Country for Old Tortoises

RE: No Country for Old Tortoises It would be nice to have a tortoise community here is all. I have to say Montana's weather is quite bipolar, but once June hits my Russian lives the Sunshine we get, but there is a lot of pulling them in and out of doors, so I can see where you're coming from...

MONTANA!! - No Country for Old Tortoises

I live in Montana. This is not a very populated state, despite being the third largest in the continental US. Montana in a sense is a big rural community, where just about everyone knows at least one person in very town. It's nice, really a great place to live. And Montanans in general are...
