We all know tortoises can’t possibly go around.
Here’s another funny video of my 7 year old Brazilian Potato pushing his way through a go cart rather than around. Enjoy!
This is not my tortoise but I’m wondering what your input is on this redfoot’s skin. It appears overgrown and is covering his nostrils almost to closure. Is this from dryness or dehydration?
This thread is for entertainment purposes. I took this video during the summer.
I don’t know why but my boys were on a repeat cycle of eating and spitting out blueberries. Enjoy counting the spits.?
I’m always hearing how redfoots can eat more fruit than other species. Does that mean they are more tolerant to tomatoes?
I’ve always read tomatoes are a “feed occasionally” food, too acidic and high in sugar.
Are there any good threads on the forum or elsewhere with some more in depth...
Today my boy Bubbles decided to try some chives. Here was the result.??♀️??
Then some nice pics. Him eating his usual clover and dandelion. oh silly boys.?
Hey guys I’m back again asking a question for another person.
Her tortoise has the spotting on the plastron. It doesn’t look fungal to me and she said it doesn’t come off when she scrubs it.
But I’ve never seen marbling start as a spotting.
Any insight?
Hey guys!
My friend showed me these pics of her Redfoot and noticed some discolored patches on his skin.
It looks unusual because it’s raised.
I asked her to try to scrub it gently with a soft bristle brush to see if it came off and it doesn’t.
I know fungal issues are usually white or grey...
I gave my boys a good scrub today, a really good one. I noticed my one boy has this strange pattern in the layers of keratin.
His shell definitely appears to be sanded down. As I watch him get in and out of his hide box he is scratching the sides. Obviously it’s time for a different hide...
Can someone point me in the direction of a good thread on Redfoot or in general hatchling temperature requirements.
I can’t tell you how many times online I’m seeing people keep these tiny babies at 70-75 degrees and it’s incredibly frustrating.
Its to my understanding from reading several...
I came across this picture of my boy from years ago biting the cement.
I’ve observed him over the years bite other strange items such as white landscaping rocks and sidewalk chalk. I spoke to a reptile shop owner that said their tortoise ate drywall.
It became apparent to me that they bite...
Hey guys! Is there a thread somewhere in this collection of goodies that has pictures of various Redfoot localities?
I’ve seen threads describing the variations of Panamanian, Colombian, Guyanan, Brazilian, and Gran Chaco; but I’d really like to see a pictorial walkthrough.?
Picture of Dr...
On the tortoise table there is a type of hibiscus that is not safe and a couple types that are safe?
I know rose of Sharon is safe, I have some of that growing in my garden. But I also have this kind...
What is this one called and is it safe?
Thanks! :)
My nearly 3 yr old Columbian Redfoot is tricking me! Though I'm not surprised.
I thought at first she was a female. Now I'm not sure! My male is mounting her, and "she's" not laid any eggs because she's still young I assume.
I've read that Colombians tend to mature later than cherry heads? My...
I'm trying to make homemade calcium blocks. Am I supposed to dilute the strength of the calcium carbonate by adding other ingredients? Or is the straight food grade calcium carbonate ok?
I've read that reds develop sexual maturity relevant to their size not age so I just want to get some clarity on the whole breeding subject because I'm a little shell shocked after my first encounter with hanky panky. :D
My 2 yr old male Redfoot flashed me his monkey business less than a week...
