I do realize he'll need something bigger but compareed to what he had before, this is much better. I have thought about the larger food tile since he tends to push it around a bit. i was thinking about planting a small fern. i like real plants. just like my aquarium, i refuse to use fake plants lol
I had a feeling it was sticky bud. ive heard of it but didnt know what it looked liked. tried searching on google but (am i surprised? no) i got a bunch of pictures of weed.
I had the tort out today and he was actually eating a lok of weeds this time. however, i have to know if any of these are safe.
This one has tons of little sticky hairs on it and its a pain to pull out of the ground. heres the weed itself
and a closeup of a bud
And these little red...
So ive had our russian for about 3 weeks now and still havent given him an official name. for some reason Ed is stuck in my head but im open to whatever suggestions you can give :)
For the substrate, i would recommend you mix some pathway bark or any small sized bark/mulch with it. it should give him a better foothold. also make sure its organic or at least has no chemicals on it (never seen any that does though :P)
Yeah the greens mix is pretty good. only 2.29 for a pretty good sized bag.
and im not looking for plants for him to eat. which is why asked if he'll eat the fern. i want them for hiding and to make the enclosure look better.
Ive noticed that Carrots shouldnt be fed too often. why is this? my russian LOVES carrots. more than anything else. since ive read that i have given him any. Another thing i thought is can they eat radish? I also have some ReptiVite. can this be used?
