Floor heating.... Has anyone ever tried the radiant heat under tile?

What I was looking at is electrical and you put it under the mortar before installing a tile floor. You use a thermostat with it. My main concern was how long something like this would last these guys because of weight??? I didn't know if their weight would crack tiles over time or not. The...

Floor heating.... Has anyone ever tried the radiant heat under tile?

What are thoughts on a Kane mat? I've never used them before. When I had sulcata, they had a hide box that was smaller and I heated the entire box like Tom recommends, but this is a building. It is fully insulated though.

Floor heating.... Has anyone ever tried the radiant heat under tile?

I was only thinking about doing half of my building so they can get off of it if needed. And they have thermostats that you use with them. I will probably just go with a Kane mat since I can't really find any good info on this.

    Tortoise night box

We have a 4' by 4' by 2' high custom tortoise box we made last year for our large sulcatas. It has two doors, one for the tortoises with a ramp, and one for you to reach inside. The top also lifts off and could easily be put on hinges. All four walls, doors, floor and top have two pieces of 1/2"...

    Baby Egyptian tortoise not eating

My Egyptians like their basking temp 120 degrees. I use a Mercury vapor for basking. Maybe you aren't warm enough? I wouldn't use the coil UVB. They had problems when they first came out for sure.

    Radiated growth

I wonder if the males grow faster than the females? This one was incubated for male, but was not scoped. I'm thinking about getting it scoped soon.
