Night is about 70. Day is about 80-85. Basking is about 90-95. It is always humid to keep him hydrated. I bathe him once a day. I do not know about his past. Do not judge me but he was given to me from backwaterrepriles I did not know about them until I received him.
I got my Sulcata tortoise for Christmas. He was a hatchling. He is about 2 1/2 inches now but just isn't growing. Maybe I'm being crazy but I heard they grow pretty fast. Any opinions?
Feeding wheat grass, minimal collards, orchard grass and minimal grassland for now. He also has a cuttle bone...

I'm not sure about his age but he is 2 1/2 inches long. I am giving him calcium and keep his enclosure humid. I go to school everyday for 5 hours so by the time I get home the substrate is dry. What variety would you suggest adding?
Okay thank you. He's always wiping his face. He also blinks a lot.. Not sure if that's normal. I try to keep the bedding moist but it seems to dry within three hours. If anyone needs to know I received him from Back Water Reptiles. I heard negative things about them. He came in pretty good...
Hi, I am using the reptisun 10.0 as the UV light. I am using the coco earth bedding which I was told was safe. I am currently feeding him orchard grass, wheat grass, and a very small amount of collards and grass land food.
Hi, I was given a sulcata hatchling on Christmas Eve. He's still very active for a hatchling, great appetite, etc. but I noticed his left eye is swollen. Could it be some of the bedding that irritated his eye? Vitamin A deficiency? Any opinions? Anyone with the same problems that can give me...
My little hatchling keeps flipping on his back. It's happened about three times. Two of those times he was probably on his back for over an hour. What should I do?!?!
Thanks for understanding.! I'm going to keep him and monitor him because I don't want to give him up ):
I just worry way too much. I'm mainly just worried about this shell issue but let's just hope it's a hatchling thing!
Okay. I was just debating on (as horrible as this sounds) trying to exchange for one that is 4 inches. I know hatchlings are more delicate. I worry way too much I guess. I just don't want to give him up but at the same time I want him to be healthy. I emailed them to see what they have to say...
It came from a well known website. They are captive bred. The best way I can describe it is a tubaware container lid. It's not like spongy just squishy to a point where I put enough pressure and he moves in his shell a bit. I have no information about the housing or anything.
