It's been a little while so i would like to post an update on Leo. I just got out of the hospital with influenza and spent five days there. Still recovering but my husband took great care of Leo while i was hospitalized. To my surprise he is fully healed! I am now using cypress mulch and he...
He mostly just has a runny nose occasionally, smacking his tounge as if he's eating something, his eyes still bother him. The vet wants me to use paper towel, so that's what I've been using. She said to rule out all possible irritants. I'm feeling like i should have something for him to burrow...
I guess I'm just filled with devastation. Just when i think he's getting better, He takes ten steps backwards. I just gave him his 9th injection yesterday. He has one left. And I'm back at square one. I have not changed anything, my husbandry is great, temps are great, food. Soaking, the whole...
I think it's great that you care so much. There are no many out there that do. When i was posting for help i got some not very nice replies and it almost makes me feel like Leaving, however i think it's great how much you care, keep being you and i don't doubt that she needs you there to eat. My...
Also dry is ok as long as its not dusty, humidity is good even for Russians, adults don't need as much humidity as babies. This is all from my experience with my baby and great advice from here and another forum
Exactly!! Same reason I'm here! I try to help her but she doesn't take anything i say and improve his conditions. She uses the coil bulb which is not good. He's rarely soaked.its just devastating,i feel terrible Every time i see him,I'm about to steal him and give him a better home lol
I'm not sure i would use the heat rock. I heard that they get too hot and can burn them:( if at all possible i would move your tortoise away from the window and into a warmer room. The cold temps mixed with humid substrate depending on what your using is a bad combo.also dusty substrates can...
I'm so sorry your going through this with your tortoise:( i read everything you posted and many gut feeling tells me it's the start of a respiratory infection. I'm currently fighting a RI with my Russian and a lot of what your describing sounds exactly like how many little guy started out. My...
He's doing ok, thanks for asking:) i just wish tortoises healed quickly like humans when on an antibiotic. He's not as bad as he could be and he's making improvement but i just hope and pray that he makes full recovery!
That picture i posted was my sister's. He's a wild caught adult. Mine is a 10 month old captive bred baby that i bought from a breeder in Nevada. Mine is the one With the respiratory infection:(
Ok :) i was on a different forum and they told me to turn heat off at night. Stupidly i listened being new at this and that's when he got worse. Has a little bit of a runny nose as we speak and that's after five injections. What all did your very say to give? Seems like you have different...
