    Humidity problems

I've had the same problem with keeping frogs. Cover the top with tinfoil or a wet towel. Try to find air spots and cover them. Not sure how it is for torts, but ventilation may be a problem. Ask someone else (tortdad) about that.

    Deciding on first tortoise species

Thanks for the help. I am super undecided. Since they both have similar setups, I'm just going to go to the reptile expo and pick up one. And before you start screaming for me being unprepared in resources, I have a lot of leftover tropical stuff from my Golden Gecko (RIP Draco 2014 :( ) I'm...

    Deciding on first tortoise species

Okay. How does a solid, sealed top sound? There would be grates on the sides for ventilation. I will probably use some sealant on the wood as well. I think I could make that work. The cage may be a bit smaller, possibly 7x3. However, I hope to get a hatchling, so I will have some time to think a...

    Red-Foot indoor size

Oh, didnt think about that... Probably going to cover the rest with foil. I'm buying a mister system for my frogs and geckos soon, possibly hook that up into the cage. How does your cage look? Could you send me some pics? Thanks

SUGGESTION for Setting Up a Baby Habitat

Oh, it just sort of looked like a red foot setup. I'm assuming it would work with them since it has worked with yellow foots

    Deciding on first tortoise species

Okay. What would be a suitable size for an adult red foot during winter months. My dad is an architect so I'm sure that I could ask him to help with the building. Maybe 8x4? All my animals live in the basement, and we dont use it for things such as parties a lot, so I could try to get them to...

    Red-Foot indoor size

Okay, that sounds good. The outdoor will be about... I'm thinking 8x4, depending if I get more torts in the future. Also, can different species cohabitate outside? Like in a large area. On the issue of double cages, I'm most likely going to use a stock tank, so I might install a shelf and ramp...

    Deciding on first tortoise species

Hello, So I recently was (and still am) interested in getting a tortoise. I've done my research, and have narrowed down my choices to a Greek or a Red foot. I have been keeping lizards and amphibians for about 4 years now. I have all the resources and the yardspace, and I'm sure my beardie wont...

    Red-Foot indoor size

So I have been debating on getting a red-foot tort for a bit, and I was reading up on the forums. They mostly said that an 8x2 was an acceptable size for an indoor. I live in southern Ohio, so I would like to be able to leave my torts outside during some of spring, summer, and fall. So when the...

SUGGESTION for Setting Up a Baby Habitat

Great guide, does this refer to only redfoots? Or can it apply to Mediterranean species like Greek and Hermann's? Thanks
