    Thanks all. It's the first fertile egg my adult hermann has laid. It was amazing to watch. She seems to be very healthy and has quite an appetite.

    I used a hobavator with vermiculite. I initially made the vermiculite moist but not over moist. I then sprayed it with water once every other week but had 2 shallow plastic containers in full of water. what would you suggest moving forward? thanks

    after 3 years of infertile eggs I thought I would check as it had gone past the time scale I had been told. The egg sack was really hard when opened.

    I have 2 more females they have never laid yet. I shall make another nest for her. It was lucky I saw her laying this morning as she patted the mud down so well I wouldnt have found them as the weight loss was small.

    yeah she chose to lay them half way down the slope so was only 4 inches deep this was enough for the 2 eggs she buried them and left. I then dug them out after. Do you think I should setup anymore nests or leave the one that worked this time?

    The eggs have now been in the incubator for 6 weeks at around 32c. Hopefully they are fertile a couple are showing signs of a slight shadow inside the egg on different parts.
