Certainly creative .... So many considerations too. Bear in mind ease of cleaning and the impact the entire set up will have on the room. But well done on thinking big !!
We have had a lot of dodgy UVB coils coming into the UK from China mainly through eBay and traders selling them in kits. They have been found to produce either too much very little or none at all. So only buy a recognised brand if you are using them.
Just be sure the vet knows the procedure. If they are familiar with torts it will be a quick thing with little fuss, knowing Leo's she might sulk a little but torts live in the now, and will soon forget the ordeal. :0)
Lol .... We do !! Well the cockerels. Don't think we will be chopping trees. Although the fifty ft pear is getting dangerous when the fruits come down lol. It's such a sorry tale to hear, to have these amazing creatures suffering where you are. Two weeks !!! That's dreadful :(:(
It's not an op as such, it's put in the skin layers in the back leg, more like an injection, it's worth doing I think Lyn, it would stop any argument or dispute if she was lost and then somebody claimed it was theirs but you knew differently. Can't dispute a chip !! You have to weigh up the...

The list of predators you have Tom is pretty scary lol .... Our biggest threat are badger and fox or the pet dog. Or the neighbours cat that likes to use the torts pen as a litter tray !!!
Do you have access to dandelions and other salad leaves, Russians are generally good doers. In the wild they will be in hibernation or aestivation for upto nine months of the year !! So they tend to eat a lot if it's available. If the torts on a table indoors I would not feed daily. And ruskies...
Have to say the Russians are very confident and certainly do like to climb. I would say glass as it won't get scratched so easily. Allow a five inch blacked out bottom of the glass , I bet he will still stretch up and look lol. They like to slide too !!! Daft but they do, a slate ramp works well...
