Sheldon didn't get to be outside much this summer due to poor weather. We're thinking of putting some kind of plastic top on the enclosure so he can go out more in the usual conditions we have here in the North of England.
Does anyone have a plastic top on their outdoor enclosure? We currently...
Our outdoor tortoise enclosure has been grown a ton of the attached in the last couple of weeks. No idea what they are, can anyone help? I'll be overjoyed if they're edible, there are loads!
Looks good! I'm thinking of something at least half the size of the floor to really maximise the space.
Is it very humid in there? Looks like there's a fogger on - never used one but they look cool.
Does anyone have a shelf in their indoor enclosure? Thinking of making a vivarium / closed chamber for our Hermann and want to maximise the floor space.
All the research we did before getting our tortoise in 2015 said that vivariums were a no go and they had to be kept in tables so that's what we bought. We're lucky to have a dedicated reptile room but keeping humidity up can be tricky with no lid.

6. Milk thistle
7. Sainfoin
8. Tufted Vetch
9. Timothy Grass
10. Dandelion
That's why I asked on here, I don't want him getting poisoned. They should all be from a tortoise weed mix I bought but unfortunately it didn't come with photos.
Beer traps are a good idea, don't know why I haven't put any in already. The tape could be interesting, I'd have to staple it in as I don't think the self adhesive variety will keep up with an English 'summer'.
Well we're on year two now and a new batch of weeds. I have absolutely no idea what any of them are, any ideas? The weather has been awful so far this year so Sheldon hasn't been out much. I've attached some pictures of him, does he look ok?

It's grown a lot over the summer and become a bit of a wildflife refuge. Just this morning I've seen millipedes, two species of spider, a weevil, springtails, a bee, a hoverfly, a couple of earthworms and unfortunately several cabbage white butterflies, caterpillars, about 6 snails and tonnes of...
