Here I am searching today because for some reason Dozer has popped up with a bloody nose as well. He was just eating a small piece of watermelon. I guess he could have gotten a small stick with it. But I didn't see one. Glad yours stopped quick. I will watch Dozer!
Update: it stopped...
I removed the Nandina from Dozers pen. He loved to hide under it, but I was not sure it was safe. I cannot find it on the turtle table database, nor nothing mentioned in a search here. Does anybody know if nandina domestica is safe?
He has a large outdoor enclosure I would love to put some...
Dozer is 4 and 18.5 lbs. He had been outside for over a year now. We just built a new bigger house. Insulated walls, radiant heater, smoke detector (just in case) back up CHE's. Heater is on a digital thermostat set at 70 degrees now that the weather is cooling down. It's working great. We...
Looks like my Dozer. He's 4 now. I tried to keep him from pyramiding, but didn't succeed very well. I hate the pyramiding, but noting I can do but try to do better. He's outside full time now. So I use misters in his enclosure during the day. Trying to figure out what the best way to...
No light. In Nor Cal, so no night heat needed right now. The crack is new since yesterday, whitish spots I suspect fungus, but not positive. I will soak him to rule out dehydration. He has a pond he goes into everyday.
Dozer looked just like this til he was just over 3 years and 11 lbs. Then last summer he started to change. He's just 4 years old, and has flashed his parts. I would say 6 months to a year you will know.
It has been ages since I posted about Dozer! I read the forum every so often, but rarely post. So to update you, Dozer is a boy! I have seen the parts many times now! I have to say they are unlike any parts I have seen before and the first time it scared me. I have an instagram page for...
Dozer is 3 years old and 10 lbs. Yesterday I notices these faded areas on his shell. I touched it with my nail and it scratched easily. Fungus? If so, which antifungal is advised?
1 year update. Sorry I am a week late... anyway, Dozer started off as a hatchling at 29g. Her umbilical was not completely closed and I worried a lot. No worries with her now. She weighs 670 grams!!!
Her she'll is not as smooth as I would like, but I have a feeling that is from too much...
Dozer is doing great. I have acquired another tort as well. Same age. Both are growing well. Last week they each weighed 613g/614g respectively. Dozer is more shy than Mack. I believe Mack is a boy. I just posted a general question about his neck fold. It looks swollen/sore. His gular...
I have two sulcatas the same age, 11 months old. They are both doing great, but one has scrapes on his/her neck. This particular tortoise's gular goes up where the other one sticks out straight. I am wondering if the neck fold is infected, or just swollen? It is big, and as I mentioned has...
