    Applying lamisil on my sully

The plastron is clean the last time I checked, I have to look more closely but I'm currently on a trip. Rodent damage would be impossible, I have him in an enclosure and the only time he's out I/(or someone at home) watches him while he basks, soaks and graze daily. I got flamed real bad on a...

    Applying lamisil on my sully

Oh I didn't take offense at all. I'm grateful for the help. Enclosure: I can cover his enclosure with newspaper. I'll keep the basking lamp and CHE operational I'll remove the water dish in case he swims in it with the lamasil on him Routine: He'll get to bask in the sun daily and graze. No...

    EXO Terra BAsking lamp replacement

Hi Yvonne, I actually only have a basking bulb, since Nicco gets taken out daily to graze and to bask in the sun. Should I just get a UVB bulb for his basking lamp?

    Applying lamisil on my sully

How long would it normally take for the treatment to finish? 6-8 inches carapace length I think, haven't measured lately.

    Applying lamisil on my sully

Hi All, Unfortunately Nicco has developed shell rot. His routine has been the same since I got him last year. He's in an enclosure with 4 temp zones, he gets to graze outside daily, he's on a grass diet + mazuri on the side, he gets reptile vitamins and calcium supplements, he gets soaked 30...

    EXO Terra BAsking lamp replacement

Hi all, I've replaced my Exo Terra 100 W basking lamp (non UV) twice in the past 6 months. I was wondering if I can use a 50W Halogen Lamp in its place? I'll be measuring the temp using an IR gun. My only concern here is if it might have the same effect as a coiled lamp (blindness/burns)...

Advice on transitioning a 3 month old sulcata to grass.

Wow that's really nice growth! I wonder if I can get mine to grow like that. How much seeds did you put? How did you space them out?

Advice on transitioning a 3 month old sulcata to grass.

Hi Tom do you have photos of your testudo and african grazer mix patches? I'm curious to see what they look like full grown so I know when to start chopping. thanks!

    # of hatchlings per enclosure

Got it! I guess I'll just have to estimate when they start getting cramped? How far apart in age/size would they have to be for it to not be ok to mix them?

Advice on transitioning a 3 month old sulcata to grass.

Thanks @Tom ! That's quite a complement coming from the Sulcata guru. :) I do have additional questions though. How long before I'll need to add organic fert? Do I just chop some off and keep growing them? What'r the lifespan of these plants? Wondering every when I should reset. Thanks again!

Advice on transitioning a 3 month old sulcata to grass.

I bought organic soil (with compost) and put them in these containers. I then added testudo mix and african grazer seeds from tortoise supply. Plus another half inch of soil on top. This is 6 days after. So stoked for these to flourish so I can start feeding them to Nicco.

    # of hatchlings per enclosure

Hi all, How many hatchlings can I put in one enclosure? A 5x2 with temp gradients of course. I'm thinking of getting another batch of Sullies :) Also I have one 4 month old in a 5x2, can I add more with him? (I know just two would be bad, so I'd have to add at least two.) Cheers

Advice on transitioning a 3 month old sulcata to grass.

Where do you buy those trays for the grass to grow in? Do you just use coco peat?
  16. edricivan

    Nicco (tentative name) is home!

I think when the time comes to replace the coco peat (how long does that take?) I'll make it deeper this time. As for the grass I'm currently growing some, if they take i'll add them in :)

Sulcata hatchling sleeping in water bowl

The water bowl and humid hide is in the humid enclosure. How would I know if he has a lot of parasites? Should I do anything about it?

Sulcata hatchling sleeping in water bowl

As the title states I saw my 4 month old hatchling sleeping in his water bowl tonight. Is this normal? Should I put him back in his humid hide?
