I agree no heating pad. My mom said not to use one a fire hazard.
He's fine, he ate a little reptile kibble I left for him in his kennel. And he is fine in house til our Miami cold snap is over
Tomorrow it's supposed to get a little warmer but I hear rain Friday with another front
So he will...
what kind of shed do you have for him? I'm trying to find something my tort will like? I'm in Miami and today Tugie is in my house in a large dog kennel.. poor tort!
Hi Tort Family
well my African Sulcata TUGIE is 5 year old and since it's been very cold in Miami, I went out and got a large Dog
Kennel (for a 100 pd dog) and I've been bringing Tugie inside my house for about 3 nights now..
Weather here in Miami got cool - during nights can fall from 67 down...
where do I find Mulberry Leaves, grape leaves & cactus pads?
tugie has a large fenced in yard to graze in. he grazes all day and I give him an occasional baby carrot or a strawberry once a week. not much fruit very litte. he lives in Miami, so he's stays nice and warm.
Hi Tortoise Family
I just adopted my Sulcata, he is 5 years. He has my backyard with tons of nice grass to graze on all day.
Usually before work I give him a paper plate full of kale, collards etc then when I get home give him another plate of greens.
is this enough?
Please advise?
thanks
Lori

I am a new tortoise owner. My African sulcata was my daughters dads tort, Tugie is his name.
He is about 5 years old. Anyway, when tugies dad went on holiday I agreed to have him stay with me so I would care for him while he was on holiday. Have nice fenced yard very tropical with small...
