Ha! Hiccup loves carrot. He has recently started eating the mazura pellets so that makes me happy. He still manages to let me know when he isn't happy tho!

    Picky Eater

This is more amusing to me than anything, however, feel free to let me know if i should be concerned. When Hiccup was the size of a golf ball i would cut his food for him. I recently bought some tort treats, pellets and dried flowers that I soak in water and he hates them! He literally poops on...

New tortoise owner, help please, red swollen sores

I stuck my tort in a kiddie pool and made sure he had a place to hide. 4x4 is kinda small but will do. A lot of the people on this site have a lot of space and dedicate their lives to tortoises, so, while they have awesome advice there are some things you can do in a pinch. I have posted some...

    He ate a rock!

So I took my sully Hiccup out for a walk in the sun. I stay with him the whole time so he cant get lost. Anywho, before I could reach down and stop him the littlw gem swallowed a rock the size of a pea. Which for comparison is like a human putting a gold ball in their mouth. Is he going to die?

    Sulcata with attitude!

Love this story! I have a pack of 4 dogs. A Rottweiler that loves watching Hiccup walk around but seems content just watching. A Cocker Spaniel that is not interested at all. An English bulldog mix who wants to eat Hiccups grass, and an obsessive pit/beagle mix that wants to be up in Hiccups...

    Sulcata with attitude!

Lol I am not sure if there is mesh in there or not hiccup was a hatchling two years ago and now he is about 5 inches long and 3 1/2 wide. I am not worried about mesh as he is checked on many times a day. I am out in the death valley desert 50 miles from las vegas. Hiccup is still bird bait, he...

    Sulcata with attitude!

This is indoors and because we have a shaded balcony the windows dont provide much sun. I was skeptical about the sod myself. The lady said it had no pesticides and only natural fertilzer...i guess that means cow ****!!

    Sulcata with attitude!

It is sod, from a local grower. I was assured there were no dangerous chemicals. And thoroughly rinsed it just to be sure. The water dish has rocks in it for that very reason. He cant flip in it and we check on him frequently. Do you know what type light is best? There are different uv lights...

Maximus at 3 months .... Breakfast after his Soak

What is that you are feeding him it looks like a bunch of different things!? My little Hiccup eats Grass from the yard, weeds from the yard, leafy greens from the store, and turnip greens or dandelion greens. He also stomps all over the place more now that he is older. I call it that because...

    Sulcata with attitude!

So I have a hatchling sulcata. Does anyone else have an attitude problem when you feed them something they dont want? His name is Hiccup and if he doesn't get his favorite he literally stomps around looking directly at me and kicks turf all over his food! Kinda cute but could it mean a problem...
