    Is this a good staple?

I've read the food item articles here on the tortoise forum. The stressor has been trying to find the items on it!! For their "Im in a hurry" meal,Here is what I have been feeding my sulcata and leopard tortoise hatchlings: finely chopped mixture of 1 part collard greens, 1 part shredded...

    DIET FOR SULCATAS! NO WAY!!!

I agree. It was so confusing! Even my coworker, who recently started a tortoise rescue, gave me information on diet that contradicted the tortoise forum. I stick to the tortoise forum now... but at the beginning, tortoise diet felt like a huge frustrating mystery. Felt like hit or miss if I was...

Uh oh-hatchling just ate small red seed/berry

Doing good. She'll be soaked 2x daily for a while!

What husbandry causes the lighter coloration?

Uh oh-hatchling just ate small red seed/berry

Thank you, I've search all the options listed above as well as the ones in your article. So many look passable, but none really look exactly like the berries I found. Will go to a nursery as suggested above! :)

Uh oh-hatchling just ate small red seed/berry

Only have Texas Oak around the area, no ornamental bushes - 2 "berries" total that I could find to throw out, plus one in the tortoise's belly! I'll definitely be soaking extra. Thanks guys! Prayers that she's okay by morning - afraid about toxicity!

Uh oh-hatchling just ate small red seed/berry

I thought I had the whole area perfect, with only grass and a small pile of leaves to play in, but a strange berry/seed thing was missed, or it may have blown in on the wind?? (only explanation I can think of!) Either way, leave it to Cerce to find the hazard! She swallowed it whole, and I'm...

    Skin Staining?

Lol! Will try the gentle toothbrushing tomorrow during soak - just put him away for the night. I think you are right though - most likely just food and dirt stains :)

    Double check my weed ID?

That's a good idea - if nothing else it'll get it out of my tortoise's reach!

    Double check my weed ID?

My yard has lots of weeds that my leopard tortoise seems very attracted to. I think I've identified some as either clover or false clover, plus dandelion leaves, but not sure. None have any flowers and it's kind of the wrong season to expect any flowers anytime soon. There's also tiny...

Tortoise has puffy eye with a white dot

Glad to hear! My suggestion is to continue for just a day or two. While extra antibiotics couldnt hurt per se, putting in medications can be a stresser on the animal. Even so, with that piece gone, I would suggest continuing for a day or two. If you notice any changes from the improvement, you...

Tortoise has puffy eye with a white dot

Zooming in to your picture, it does look less like an ulcer. Hopefully it is not.

Tortoise has puffy eye with a white dot

Strangely sounds like an ulcer even though I see you already have her on tobramycin. Your description and cause match perfectly. They turn ugly in 2 days or less, and sounds like it's already down that path. Hopefully a vet will shed more light on it! *EDITED
