Yea I'd agree with Yvonne that Sheldon is Russian. The easiest way to tell is to look at the plastron pattern as Russian, marginated, greeks and Hermanns don't share the same pattern. And oh yes Russian likes climbing a lot!!
Hi Jesse - TeamZissou is right, it's definitely an eastern Hermanns. The care for Hermanns and most Greeks are similar though. I have both Ibera Greeks and Eastern Hermanns and they live side-by-side happily.
My male hermanns has much longer tail than that, so I'd say female for now but keep watching as sometimes when the tortoise is not fully mature and still growing. Also in my experience, when I soak my tortoise the male will sometimes "flash" his thing so you'll know.
