Hi all!
My Tortasaurus Rex seems to prefer pellet food over fresh greens. He will eat greens when I hand feed him but he seems to only eat his pellet food when left to his own devices. He is around 10, I have had him for 6months, and the previous owner fed him both pellets and greens. Of course...
It may not get below 60 but I'm the dead of winter I may run it. Thermostat will be a for sure purchase. I shouldn't need to run it till Jan or Feb in Virginia where I live. Thanks for the help!
I have a little Russian and so far this summer have not needed a CHE at night as he is indoors. I need to set one up this fall as it can be cold st night indoors where I live. What is the best placement? I have a wooden tort table lined in plastic. Will the CHE melt the plastic? Should it be on...
I have been trying to soak my (about 10yr old) Russian who I only got about 2 months ago from his previous owner. I have a little rectangle Tupperware that I soak him in. Thing is he seems to hate it and is always trying to get out. He is kept in an 8x4 indoor inclosure but spends some time...
It's 8x4 but I will also have an outside area in my yard. I will make the sides taller as well. Getting him from a friends dad who can no longer care for him. Substrate is coco core, moss, and cypress mulch.
I will not be getting my RT till after mid July because of vacation but plan on having some short weekend trips after that. My mom and dad have agreed to keep it when we do. My question is- he/she will have an 8x4 ft indoor space at our house but when being watched will it hurt to keep it a few...
I am having a ridiculously hard time finding breeders that have baby Russians for sale!! I want to get one in the next few months but I have only been able to find adults and I would like a yearling. The only one I could find was in Canada and it was about 4x the price and not sure if they ship...
Probably a hatchling but not super super young if that makes sense. The weather in the summer here is usually 80-90s but we have cold snaps so keeping it outside permanently will not be an option. I will take it out when weather is nice but indoors 75% of the time probably
I am going to getting my first tortoise hopefully in the next few months once I get proper set up- I'm leaning towards either Russian or Red foot I think. My question is a notice a lot of torts for sale advertised as a pair. Is it better to buy in pairs for companionship? Or could I have a happy...
