Ok thanks! I was really worried after the diagnosis last night and worried about my dog I completely forgot to ask the vet then I wake up this morning and put the torts outside and was like crap can they get it too.
So I took my dog for a second opinion since I didn't trust the vet he originally saw. He doesn't have a torn ligament the X-rays show mottled bone in that leg which the vet said was a sign of valley fever along with his other symptoms. So my question is: can a tortoise get valley fever? I forgot...
Harley's weight 3 weeks ago:
Her weight on Friday when I weighted them:
(She peed a lot right before I weighted her might be why she is down a gram she didn't pee right before I weighted her 3 weeks ago)
And what I believe is new growth on her shell:
Belle my rescue 3 weeks ago weight...
I soak them for 20 mins twice a day. They get zoomed grassland food, bak choy, dandelion greens, orchid(?) grass hay offered twice a day. And a couple times a week I'll soak some mazuri and sprinkle it in their food and they get calcium powder twice a week. Some times I offer spring mix. I...
Yeah they are separated only time they see each other is outside through the picket fence. She eats like a pig and sleeps a lot. I soak her twice a day but I can start doing that 3 times a day if needed.
Harley hasn't gained any weight since I got her a month ago but the rescue, Belle, has gained 14 grams in the last 2 weeks. They both eat a lot of food but Harley doesn't seem to be gaining any weight but she has new growth on her shell. Should I be worried? I took them for a vet check up and...
That's awesome! It's always great to have someone who loves you and supports you.
I get a lot of people who are like "your husband allows you to get all those weird animals?" And I tell them "Yep! And he loves me!"
No, my husband has told me no pet shops, shows, or friend's houses that breed any type of reptiles for atleast a year maybe two lol. I have 7 snakes, 2 torts, a bearded dragon and two dogs... I would love to go to either the show here in Tucson or the one in Mesa but not until next year apparently.
I've had my bearded dragon since he was little. He has a broken finger and his tip of his tail is also broken and damaged from his cage mates before I got him. He's a character and a fatty that loves to eat his veggies and dubia roaches. Here's my Gaara:
Thank you @Abramsmytankturtle
Ok thanks @wellington. The petshop had sold me the wrong fixture the MVB didn't fit so my mom had the wire cage fixture that she wasn't using anymore so I borrowed it until I can go get a bigger fixture for the MVB. I wrapped it because I think too much of the...
Yeah I turn off the MVB and then switch to a CHE at night so I don't have too many holes in it. My temps stay good doing it this way: 100 basking, 83 cool side, and 85 night time.
So built Harley a new enclosure (a bookshelf converted into an enclosure).
And it all closed up:
Now to go make a second one for the rescue I still haven't figured out what to call him.
Ok I can go buy some more picket fence from the dollar tree and divide it for now or to play it safe I can go get a kiddie pool and make it into a pen for one of them to make sure they aren't coming into contact during quarantine period.
@Maro2Bear
This is the outdoor enclosure right after I...
Thanks Wellington! Will it be ok if I put them outside together? I only have the one pen set up for outside at the moment (it's 8x4) or would that cause a problem? I know that you shouldn't house them together but would it be ok for them to go outside together for a few hours or should I try to...
My husband's co worker found out we had a tortoise and asked if we would take another one. Apparently they got it for their child but then decided they couldn't care for it once it got big so decided to find a home for it now. I'm glad they did they were keeping it in a 10 gallon aquarium on...
Thanks for answering my questions! I guess my Harley is just a pig lol I offered a little oregano with her supper and she ate it all. I also didn't have a problem getting her to eat the mazuri or the grassland food either she has only refused the orange hibiscus flower (but ate the red one) lol
Like I said this might be stupid questions but I was just wondering about them.
First off I was wondering if anyone has ever given their leopard a soak with a little honey in it? I know it's a weird question but I give my dogs a little honey once a week for all the beneficial properties it has...
