    Preventing cross contamination.

I hate to hear that, I hope you guys are able to continue not testing positive and that it does not spread. My dream is to one day have a group of Kleinmanni. If that ever happens I would be devastated to lose them or any of my animals for reasons other than natural death.

Perhaps I should use disposable gloves and wash my hands in-between?

Rubber thimbles work well to remove dead skin and leave live in tact.

    Preventing cross contamination.

I have an Aldabra tortoise who is doing great and growing like a weed. I recently purchased several baby eastern box turtles. I tend to do their care one after another as well as feed my group of loggerhead musk turtles. I only have one sink so I cant use separate sinks but each animal has...

    UV specific light recommendations

Not to complicate things further but if you can get the little guy outside for a couple of hours two to three times a week you can get all the uva uvb you need for free! Think of it as charging their batteries.

Attaching full spectrum light to glass lid

I am looking to attach a 24' t5ho 5.0 fixture to the bottom of a glass lid. The light puts off some heat but not a ton. The top of the light is flat with no ridges. It is for hatchling eastern box turtles, I would not have bothered but the whole thing was at petco on clearance for 20 dollars...

New to tortoises but thinking about getting one ❤️

If you are serious see if you can find someone selling or breeding Egyptian tortoises. They I believe are the smallest of the tortoises and can be kept in a reasonable amount of space. Sadly, It is illegal for them to cross state lines though.

Still wondering if anybody has any EVIDENCE that Aldabras are solitary animals

Not looking for a fight, just curious as someone who keeps a single Aldabra. Why do you think keeping them alone would harm them?

    Tort bm location?

Just like the title says, where do your torts likt to dook? My leopard always went in its water dish as well as my redfoots as a hatchling. My aldabra though, likes his food dish. I don't know, maybe he needs more room so he just pinches one off while he eats? It is better than when I bred...

Hello all, I have purchased an 2023 eastern box turtle hatchling. I am trying to figure out the best way to set up the animal as there seems to be several different options. What I know for sure is I will be keeping it in a 20 long with a flourescent 5.0 full spectrum 15” light. I will be...

    Burmese star baby

Do you have any source of uva and uvb? Also I would suggest switching from an open to closed enclosure unless you live in an area that the humidity stays between 80-85%. Lastly, if possible I would take it to an exotic vet to see if they can address exactly what's going on. Not trying to...

    Circulation inside enclosure

All heat sources are run off of a herpstat 4 and I will for sure get another timer for the second light. I was unaware they only need a couple of hours of full spectrum a day, is three sufficient? I keep the big thermometer in there because I am paranoid about ambient air vs near heat source...
