    Eye Infection

UPDATE: I took Zarya outside for two hours in the garden, she didn't eat anything as far as I could see but she did do a lot of exploring, it was very sunny out there too and I think it woke her up a bit because that is the most active I have seen her ever since her poor eye got infected, still...

    Eye Infection

Quick update, and another couple of questions if anybody can answer them. Over the past couple of days Zarya hasn't been as active as she used to be, my mother thinks she is dying but I found dirt in her water bowl this morning and normally that would never be there unless she went into it due...

    Eye Infection

My mother has been banging on at me to buy a heatpad to put underneath the enclosure, but as you can see the enclosure is wooden and I'm not 100% sure thats a good idea. Thoughts on that? Also, I do have rocks in the enclosure, if I heated those up would that help?

Would soaking the substrate with warm water bring up both the temperature and humidity at the same time?

    Eye Infection

Please don't judge - fruits weren't my idea, they were my mothers just to try and get her interested in her food (even though again, I have seen her eating her dandelion leaves/weeds) I got her the ramped bowl since it just contains the water better in my opinion, as for the temperatures the...

    Tortoise Town

I so wish I would've known this before I ever bought from them, we spent over $300 on a Hermann's tortoise that was supposed to be a year old when in reality I don't think he could've been anything more than a hatchling, whats worse is that he died of a parasite only a month after we got him. I...

    Eye Infection

Hello everyone, I haven't posted here often in the past which I know is a bad habit, but since my last post my little Hermann's Tortoise Dante sadly died of a parasite that we think came with him from the breeder, needless to say I shan't be getting another pet from any online store ever again...

New Girl with a new Tortimus

Might as well be a zoo lol We also keep bird feeders in the back since we're the only people that actually seem to not be trying to kill the wildlife around here, I live in kind of a rural part of America, but my mother and I are from across the pond in jolly old England. Knew somebody who had a...

    Should/When to give Calcium?

My East Hermann is six months old and I currently feed him weeds that I pick from my garden (Clover, Dandelion, etc...) along with pellets that I mix in with his food. I also have a calcium block in his habitat however he doesn't pay any attention to it. He has a basking spot too with a UVB...

New Girl with a new Tortimus

Hello everyone! So I've actually been lurking around on here for quite some time before I even got my Tortoise to answer some questions that I couldn't google. Anyway, recently my mother and I (after quite a bit of research and planning) bought a six month old East Hermann's tortoise who I...
