Why do rehomers want $300 plus for these? You can get little ones for $80. Am I missing something?

Because, if this is a good looking healthy non-pyramiding tort, it keeps scammers away. We are six years into our Sully Exploration......way more than $300. So, hopefully the selller is trying to keep away unscrupulous buyers.

This makes sense, but it seems like $150 would do the same. I get if it is super healthy. But I see some that look awful and the rehoming is more than what a healthy young one would be.
