I may be receiving some 3 toeds from a rescue and was wondering if anyone can give me any pros or cons between them and easterns. I have Easterns and have no problems. Can anyone give me any insight?

In my opinion, the 3-toed is the easiest to take care of. If you are successful in keeping your Easterns healthy and happy, the 3-toes will be a piece of cake.

I see no difference in husbandry. They are both subspecies of T. carolina from the same type of habitat (open forest). I grow up with Easterns and now visit Three-toed habitat (Missouri) and see no great difference.

Same exact care for the Three-toeds as for the Easterns Dee. :) So you shouldn't have any problems with the three-toed. Just going to have to keep them seperate as they will cross breed.

Only thing i noticed between my two (eaterns and 3toeds) were the 3toeds loved soaking a lot more then the easters. They also loved to dig. But they do have the same care, you wont have a problem,
