Last night, the last egg belonging to a clutch of 3, laid by one of our female Eastern Box turtles, hatched. We were completely shocked at what came out of the egg.
No it is not mixed with any other species or subspecies, it's a pure Eastern.
Mom is not colorful at all, but dad is. However, he's not THIS crazy looking.
This baby is perfectly formed, has 100% perfect scutes and is as strong as can be, with quite an attitude on it.
