about sulcata’s shell

i want to know if the dent is normal on young sulcata
from what i asked the seller, he said that its just his back bone and it will be normal when it grew older
i’m just curious.
i’ve had him for about 5 months now and is really health.

This is not the back bone. Its just a cleft in the keratin and it is fairly normal. Nothing to worry about.

What is a worry is that substrate. That is not a good tortoise substrate. Its an impaction risk and it is much too dry. You can't wet it because it will rot and mold.
