Looking very cute!

On average, what percentage of your hatchlings turn out to be hypos?

Hypo x hypo = 100% (recessive gene)
Hypo x Normal= 50% Het for Hypo ( normal looking *although much lighter than your normal )
Het x Het = 66% Hypos

HYPOLICIOUS. So what happens when you breed a hypo with an albino?

66% het and 33% albino? Never really got into the genes thing, but it facinates me.

Kelly me too~ .... here is an example simple recessive and most likley the outcome of the double cross ....
*Simple-recessive
Example: Hypo
Hypo x Hypo = all Hypo
Hypo x Het Hypo = 1/2 Hypos and 1/2 Het Hypos
Hypo x Normal = all Het Hypos
Het Hypo x Het Hypo = 1/4 Hypos, 1/4 Normal’s, and 1/2 Het Hypos. 3 out of 4 babies will come out looking normal, and 2 out of those 3 should come out Hets, so all normal-looking babies would be considered 66% Possible Hets.

Breeding the Albino and Hypo would be something like this ……
Dominant x Recessive:
Dominant Example: Line Bred Hypo
Recessive Example: Albino
Hypo x Albino = 1/2 Hypo Het Albino and 1/2 Normal Het Albinos

If neither of them are het for the other gene, i.e. hypo het albino or albino het hypo, then all of the babies would be normal’s, double het for albino & hypo.

I haven’t had my chance to get an albino RF yet …..:p:D;)

Yeah they are very pricey. Maybe I can woo bob clark for one of his babies he had. I think 2500 for a hatchling is what he wanted last time he had some. I remember when I was in snakes many years ago, the same thing with the genes and double hets, and recessive, co-dominant, and all that stuff. Just never really got into it. I like my animals all natural, but like the hypos, and albinos, its cool how nature can throw something in like that.

There is this man who just opened a reptile shop about a year ago. he is a very knowledgable person and very kind as well. I always thought my redfoot looked a bit different haha.

I'll post pics tomorrow as soon as I can because he is sleeping right now :)
