We are putting in her 3000 gallon poly tomorrow, she outgrew her 1000 gallon pond in like 6 months. I got to go in with her, that's always fun. This is my all time favorite turtle, just bad to the bone. I'm going to put the GoPro on when she's in the new 3000 gallon and get some video of her swimming in big water. Thanks for looking.

I can't wait to actually swim with her, that's going to be awesome. Here is the pond she was living in. We got it all ripped out and ready for the new one, tomorrow. It's 3 times the amount of water, she's going to love it.

In those close-ups of her face, her mouth looks pretty soft. I've always heard that they have a really BAD bite and to be very careful around them.

I love the picture where we can see a bit more of your ponds. Do you have a filter for each one, or a filter that joins them all together?

Looks can be deceiving, it would suck to get bit by her, but she has never tried to bite. I took a bunch of pics as we installed her new poly, later on I will post them up.

We ripped out her wood and liner pond, then drug her new poly over.

Then we dug up the existing drain line to tie into.

Threw the sand in and drilled the hole for the bulkhead.

We put in the temporary overflow depth, until we complete her swallow water basking, and dry beach basking/nesting site.

The goes the 90, and complete the drain connection.

Cover it up and the drainage is complete.

While my dad did that, I raked the sand even to get ready and rinse it out.

Rinsed all the sand until it go clear, drained it once more, and filled it back up.

The sun was going down and we had some things that needed to be done before I go back. The rest of the land areas for the 600's and her poly will be finished dips ring the week. I'm more than happy with our new setups, 14 more to go for this year. I will take pics of the land areas when we finish them and the landscaping.

Great pictures, you are lucky to have that sandy soil to work on.

I need to level my 600gallon tank. The clay soil underneath one side has eroded from the water overflow. Hopefully I get to it this spring. Far too cold now and the turtles are hibernating.

In Miami it's straight limestone, just 1" down. We had a couple truck loads of screening sand dropped back there to use for leveling and for the tranches. We are going to have stone walkways throughout the facility when finished. I was swimming in ponds all weekend, it's so warm here still.

I told my wife how jealous I was that you were swimming in ponds all weekend and she was disgusted. I guess some people will never totally understand us turtle nerds man. Hope you enjoyed it.

Don't forget to VOTE.

I have the go pro now, once we get her done, I'm going to shoot some under water video of her. I really love that turtle, can't wait to see her full grown.

This is her as a hatchling.
