    It's really so human and discriminating of us to call those lovely volunteers "weeds".
    If a "beautiful" yellow rose grew in the middle of a field of dandelions, it would be a weed, right?

    If it was one of the wild creeping roses that grab you by the ankle and stab ya through your pants I would call it a weed, along with a few other names.
    My definition of a weed is just a plant that has come up in an area I didn't intend it to. For example, found some wild dog violet growing in my yard (it's a weed). I dug it up and moved it into my flower bed in an area that it can spread and more easily be appreciated (now it's my pretty garden plant).
