Just some general thoughts on hibernation I've been thinking about lately

What would happen if you did not ever hibernate a tortoise that was ment to do so?

Why do they need to hibernate, is it to survive the coldest time of year?
If so, then a tortoise that is CB and is kept indoors with controlled heating wouldn't need to hibernate would it?

cheers :)

"Hibernation" is the way Mother Nature protects a cold blooded animal throughout the cold season. If its not cold (for example: under lights) its not necessary to hibernate.
