Ants in enclosures!

Sorry my search engine won't work but my enclosures have become infested with common black ants. How do I safely get rid of them. I already put a ton of diatenansious (sp) earth in the dirt and no help
I am unable to just throw out the coco coir and start again. It will be a while before I have extra funds again.

I think a change of the substrate is definitely needed to solve the problem
