App Error?

I'm new to the forum but hope this is the best place to post the following issues for review:

1. What are the image size requirements for the profile image? I have uploaded many images to threads but every image I attempt to upload to my profile is too large??? Any advise?

2. I have noticed that when I use the subscribed forums or threads page from my iPhone app that it shutdowns when I select one of them... Any advise or a glitch in the app?

I do not use the app but on this page it says:

The maximum dimensions for avatars are: 100x100 pixels.
The maximum file size for avatars is 10 KB.
