Are my tortoises pyramiding?!
How do I stop it, will it hurt them, I have gotten their humidity levels up ASAP, will it kill them or will it shorten their life expectancy? Will my babies be okay? I have had them sense December, they are around two years old and are eastern Hermann’s. They eat a mix of foods, different almost every week and get a wide variety some include romaine, collard greens, mustard greens, hibiscus, dandelion, cucumber, bell pepper, carrot, a little fruit once in a blue moon, turnip greens etc.

Mild pyramiding is only cosmetic, as long as all else is good. Its nothing to worry about at all and does no harm at all.

Your tortoises look great. I can't say they are perfect, but they are pretty darn good.

Read the following thread for the current and correct care info. Your diet needs improvement. Too much grocery store stuff. If you must use grocery store foods, it needs to be amended with some add-ins. No carrots, and no fruit. Also, they should never live in pairs.

Thank you so much for all of this, I will be sure to feed more dandies! They are also not housed together anymore (; I have learned a lot from here and your reassurance settles my mind, thank you!
