Hi, is it normal for a baby horsefield to have some dips in his shell underneath? We rescued him 3 months ago and he wasn't looked after very well. He had a check up at the vet when I first got him and they said apart from him having a soft shell he was fine. since we've had him he seens happy as eating well / toiliting fine etc. We have a good set up with his lamp, substrate etc.Today after soaking him I realised the underneath of his shell he has two dips right at the bottom just above his back legs. Is this something i should be concerned about ? If so I shall make another vet appointment. Picture attached. Many thanks in advance .

Looks fine to me
But let's make sure you actually have things right for him. So many say they have temps, etc correct, but then find out the info they were following was wrong, which is most of the info out on the web. If you followed our care sheet for him, then you likely have everything correct if followed correctly.

Thank you both for your replies. I'll take a little video/ pictures of the set up I have if that's OK. Just to confirm I'm doing right by him. I went to a specialist reptile shop and he told me I shouldn't bath him every day so I'm pretty annoyed he's given me the wrong information as I've only been doing it weekly. He told me not to bother at all. I will updated the set up later. Once again many thanks for all your help!

Third paragraph in the linked thread specifically addresses this issue.

Sorry you got the usual bad info, but now you've found a source of the good info. Welcome!
