I’ve got a new baby leopard tortoise I received last week. He’s been doing good and eats properly but I’ve noticed he likes to sleep a lot. Is this normal for babies to sleep 16-18 hours a day?? Thanks

Hello and welcome.

Yes. Normal. In the wild, everything wants to eat them. Its in their best interest to hide and sit still. Once they have food in them and they warm up a bit, there is no reason to walk around exposing themselves to potential predators.

Read these to make sure your set up, temperatures and humidity are correct. If all is good then I wouldn't worry.
