Hey everyone can I keep a baby southern painted with my baby red eared slider? Just wondering because I'm on a total turtle/tortoise buying rampage and think I might get a southern painted. So my turtle count will be even 4. 1 tortoise and 3 turtles

If they co exist naturally in nature, I don't have a problem with it usually. The main thing is that RES are far more voracious than painted turtles usually are.

I used to have sliders with a painted and a diamond back in the same tank for years without incidents. Well, except when they would pile up and "boost" each other up and over the top... Cheeky escape artists they were ;-P
