Thank God for this forum because I just had a small heart attack. I was in the midst of feeding her with a dropper as I have been because she has been unable to eat with her beak crooked, and her bottom beak just fell off

I have seen a few other posts about this and to my surprise she's more active and ate like a champ right after it happened..almost like it feels better?...so it is true? Will this grow back?? Hopefully straight this time so I can get her eating greens...

Can you get a shot of the lower jaw which is more in focus so it is easier to see exactly what is left there? The piece shown in your hand is the horny covering of the lower jaw bone. Normally these horny coverings wear against the upper ones when the tortoise is eating and keep themselves sharp that way. New growth takes place from underneath as the surface wears away. I don't know why the whole thing would come off all in one piece like that.

I am trying to determine if there is bare bone or a new horny plate in the tortoise's mouth now and can't tell from the picture you posted. Is it bleeding where that piece came off?

Thanks. Are you still seeing yellow bumps on Bonnie or Clyde?
Bonnie has been having a small one on the back of her neck where Clyde did and seems like its dried and about to fall off. (I used betadine on both of them. Clydes on his neck is about completely gone and I've seen 1 on his leg and just a couple dry patches behind their arms where the skin just kind of flakes off. I've been soaking them once a day also and that seems to help the bad areas shed

I'm hoping the pictures in your post (#7) above will assist @zovick and others in figuring out what's going on with Bonnie's lower beak.

Thank you so much, I hope. Seems like everytime i turn around im finding another issue..but I'm determined for these babies, and extremely hard headed.
Understand. I'm so sorry you're having to go through this. It does seem to be one thing after another.
