Hello everyone, thanks for any replies. I am going to wake up my Russian tortoises from hibernation this weekend after their first hibernation of about 9 weeks. I've heard that throughout hibernation, lots of Vitamin A is used up. So I was planning to offer lots of carrots and squash along with other greens right after they are warmed up again to refuel them nutrition wise. But I was thinking, would it be harmful/ bad to offer anything high sugar right after hibernation when their digestive system isn't all rebooted and healthy again? Get what I'm saying? I know carrots and squash can be offered every once in a while throughout the year and not too often, but I was wondering if it would be bad for them to have it right after waking up. Thanks!!

Too much high sugar foods is bad on their system any time of the year.
I would just feed all the proper greens and any weeds you might be able to get and cactus pads. A small amount of the carrot or squash would be best kept later on if need be.
