I would definitely get a different dish for the soaking. A nice big terra cotta dish works nicely.

I take my redfoot Darwin it to speak and feed (and poop) everyday in one of these:

It was 97 cents at Wal-Mart, and is high-sided enough to contain him if he feels like wandering.

You need a tall sided opaque tub that they can't see out of, or climb out of. The soak water needs to be much deeper. 1/3 to 1/2 way up the shell is my guideline. They should also be soaked in their own tubs so you can see which one is pooping and when.

If these two are living as a pair, they each need their own enclosure. Tortoises should never live in pairs.

Welcome I would soak for at least 1/2 hr. Keeping the water warm. Get a infrared temp gun because you might be surprised that what you think is warm might be over 100°. My guessing is always off. The gun takes that worry away. 20190304_173132.jpg
