Hello. I got this redfoot in August last year as a hatchling. I feel like her belly is too soft but it also looks like it's brittle. I've had her to the vet a few weeks ago and they said she's fine but wanted some more advise. She gets a diet of fresh mixed greens, fruits and veggies. Give her calcium supplement 3 or 4 times a week. She has the appropriate light bulbs on a timer and I have been putting her in an outdoor enclosure for the afternoons all summer weather permitting. Also wonder if she's not gaining weight well enough. She's 1.6 ounces at approximately 24 months old. Thanks for any help!20210903_133558.jpg 20210903_133605.jpg

From what I can see of her eye, she looks pretty dry. Is she in a moist, warm environment? Living in a set up designed for her species is 90% of the reason tortoises grow and thrive.

Something is terribly wrong if this tortoise is 2 years old. In fact something is wrong if this tortoise is even a year old. What is your setup like? Can you post pictures?

This species needs more protein than others. Vegetation alone is not providing the right complement of nutrients.

Redfoots also have very specific environmental requirements. Photos of your set up and equipment will guide advice to improve 'er health.

Definitely not normal. My tortoise is 3 months and almost looks that big.
