Best place to put food?

doing a bit of re modelling of their home and Im just wondering where is the better place in their enclosure to place the food?
right now I have it on the hot end under the light, but it dries up fairly quickly. should I rather move the food to the middle or cooler end? so it lasts a bit longer? im just scared that they then end up sleeping in the cooler end and getting cold?

I would put it in between the hot and colder end.
