my tortoise bill has chipped. Is this something that will grow back? I am worrying. Someone tell me this is normal?

Greetings. Yes, the beak is chipped/cracked. The problem now is that your tortoise’s beak is overgrown & needs to be trimmed back so it can eat properly. You might want to look at a local vet who can help you.

Yes, he’s learned to eat with that overgrown beak, but it’s not easy. The beak will continue to grow & be ragged like that. Ragged beaks catch onto things, but are not very efficient at eating & breaking off & tearing food. It would be good to get it trimmed up.

You're lucky. Usually when a beak is allowed to get overgrown like that the chipping off that occurs is much worse, going up into the quick bleeding and causing much pain. It really needs to be trimmed before it chips more.
