I bought a Zilla "black light" bulb for night heat/light. It turned out to be a bulb that was just purple coated. My question is can I change that out to a true black light? The kind that makes things glow? Would a black light be harmful to their eyes?

I prefer Ceramic Heat Emitters for night time heat. No light, and I don't have to worry about it harming their eyes. I don't know if a true "black light" would harm their eyes or not.

I would agree. A ceramic heat emitter is best. No light, like they would really have in the wild. They also last forever.
