Two days ago i fed my tortoise spineless prickly pear cacti and after like 4 or 5 bites that it took out of it some bubbles came out of my torts nose and mouth. I took away the cacti pad immediately. Nothing like this has happened before nor after this incident. It was her first time eating spineless prickly pear cacti. It has still been eating really well and it is a very active girl. She has no signs of being sick, but just to be on the safe side... what happened? What do the bubbles mean? Any help is highly appreciated.

Succulents contain a lot of moisture in them. Could just be that.

What species of tortoise?
Where are you?
How are you heating and lighting? UV bulb? What kind?
What are your four temps? Warm side, cool side, basking area, and overnight low?

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

The nostrils/nares go into the roof of the tortoise's mouth, not down his throat, so if the tortoise has some juicy little tidbit in his mouth it is quite possible to see bubbles or liquid come out the nostril.
