Yes I'm crazy! Anyway we are super excited to build my tortoise a custom made table from a water bed frame my family has had since before I was born. The only issue we're having is what to put on the sides inside the wood to prevent wood rot from all the moisture. The bottom is getting glass but I don't want to put glass on the sides due to the weight. Maybe a thin sheet of plastic? .....

You don't think that the tortoise will try to eat those things?

I would think if you still had the water bed mattress you could cut and use it. It has been awhile but I believe they are pretty thick. Pretty cool idea if you ask me. Please provide us with pictures when you are done.

Thanks for all the input everyone. I unfortunately don't have the water bed mattress. I've been just putting regular mattresses in the frame since high school. I will be sure to send pictures when everything is done. We're going to give the pond liner a go.
