Clutch 2 Female 2.jpgBest Female Burmese pic a.JPGClutch 3 female 2 and Clutch 1 female 1.jpg

My group of Burmese Stars are up to their old tricks again, EGG lying season!! A new female came on board this season as she just starting laying her first ever eggs and boy she has been amazing! 3 clutches since this past September and I think she’s about lay a forth clutch! I am VERY surprised at her egg lying cycle as she is only a CBB 2006 animal and is just at 3000 grams empty. BUT, trust me we are not complaining, just amazed!! Our older adults also started their laying cycle as well. This is a great time, as I love having eggs that are all at different stages of incubation (Diapause, incubation and about to start hatching). It is nice that for about the next 8-9 months we will be having baby Burmese hatching out monthly and let me tell ya, it never gets old!! It’s an honor to work with such a rare and rewarding species!!

If you keep this up, they won't be endangered for much longer... :)

Thank you all for your kind words. I get asked a lot, "are Burmese stars good to work with" and I tell who ever asks, YES, you will absolutely love working with such a hardy, personable species, but the only drawback is, you will want to keep MANY!! Lol!! For me, it's hard to let the babies go, but at this time, my collection is big enough. Burmese stars eat ALOT as I go through just about 18 to 20lbs of greens a day, YES a day! But to me it's worth all the time I give them!

I am glad to see you are still OCD as ever. Can you please come re-arrange my closets? lol!
Congrats my brother....
PS, I noticed one egg is turned about .005 degrees perpendicular to the axis of the second row which now makes them take a disturbing hexagonal formation..

One? Oh no. You need AT LEAST 1.2! We need to be propagating this species. :)
