Calibrate CHE Thermostat? How to? New One?

So I got this thermostat sling with my CHE. It’s many degrees off. According to my hygrometer, it got up to 129F when I thought so had it set at 95. And Matteo was lying right under it!

I now have it set at 71, but the hygrometer and my hand says 89.

It came with a 160wbulb but a friend suggested I switch to the 60 which now has the lower temp.

is the thermostat not working? How should I set it. I can get the initial blinking, then temp up/down but not sure it’s setting at temp specified. If it is, it’s way off!

Where do you have the probe for the thermostat mounted?

That could explain the difference. The hygrometer under the light is getting hotter because it's 'basking'. It can be difficult getting a temp under the basking light. If you can, try using a infrared thermometer and aim it at the probe to see what it says.
